The Deputy public relations officer of Ghana National Association of private schools, Rev. William Baako has hinted that, members of their association have been home for over five months, yet the government is not considering opening full streams of the schools to operate. "To worsen our plight, government has asked us to stay home up to January 2021 without giving us any assistance to cushion our members".
In view of that, Rev. Baako, who doubles as Chairman for Ghana National Association of private schools, in Awutu Senya East municipal has cautioned President Akuffo Addo to hold the education minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh responsible should, he loses the December elections.
Speaking in an interview with Kusi Damoah of Kasoa based Pink 96.9 Fm, Rev. Baako said “I want the President to know that, our membership are huge, and also some of our students have attained the age of eighteen (18) years and will vote in the upcoming elections. If Nana Addo loses the election, he should put the blame on ‘Napo’, the education minister”.
He retreated that, government has been deceiving the association about the stimulus package promised to them “we have been filling different forms week after week yet, the money has not been given to us. Our members are crying and others are dying, we don’t have any money to pay our teachers” he emphasized.
