The Health Minister, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu yesterday, 19th July 2021 revealed that he rushed into acquiring the Sputnik V vaccine because he was not thinking properly when making such a deal with those middlemen. The procurement process did not pass through Parliament for consideration whether the US$19 price is the accepted price.
Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu did not consult the cabinet, he didn't attorney general, he didn't even ask Food and Drug Authority (FDA) to test the drugs, meanwhile this drug was going to be given to innocent Ghanaians. Kwame Asare Obeng aka A Plus is asking if all these agencies of government were not aware wasn't the President of the State, Nana Addo Danwa Akufo-Addo also aware of this?
A Minister appointed by a President can't do anything without the knowledge of the President. If such a thing occurs, any serious President will ask the Minister in question to resign or sacked him. In view of that, A Plus is asking, why is the health Minister still at post upon all that he has said? Putting the lives of the people in the country at risk and disobeying the President and State Institution in doing his own thing.
A Plus stated that "If your appointees don't have anything on you, will you allow them to humiliate you and those of us who supported you like this? Another day, another scandal but no action is taken by the President -it is either he is corrupt or weak! To trust or not to trust Akufo Addo depends on his own action and inaction. As it stands now, any rational person will conclude that Akufo Addo is corrupt! In fact, some of us are looking for the slightest opportunity to trust him again and defend him. Unfortunately, that opportunity never comes!!".
Do you agree with A Plus that the Health Minister should be dismissed by President Akufo-Addo for this action taken all by himself? Share your thoughts.
