Hackman Owusu Agyemang Named After Street At Ayawaso West.

The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly has renamed a road after Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, the Board Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board. 

The Assembly in a public declaration on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, said as a feature of its order it had affirmed the Change of Street name from Second Street ARS to Hackman O-Agyemang Street. 

The declaration endorsed by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly said the choice to rename the road was done at its fifth Spatial Planning Committee meeting hung on August 7, 2020. 

"The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly as a feature of its order has affirmed the Change of Street name from Second Street ARS to Hackman O-Agyemang Street at its fifth Spatial Planning Committee meeting hung on the seventh August, 2020," the assertion said. 

The choice to rename the road was in acknowledgment of Mr Owusu-Agyemang's long periods of recognized help as a Member of Parliament for New Juabeng North voting public of the eastern locale of Ghana and a Minister of Water, Works and Housing just as a previous Minister of Foreign issues, as per an individual acquainted with the issue. The person who was available in the Committee meeting asked not to be named in light of the fact that they are not approved to talk freely. 

The source said Mr Owusu-Agyemang has likewise been occupant in the Ayawaso West Municipality for more than 20 years and added to advancement ventures in the territory. 

Refering to the naming of a road after Afro-pop vocalist musician Noella Wiyaala in 2017, the source added that naming roads after recognized Ghanaians who are as yet alive was not novel.
