JM unveils late Prof. mills statue at first community day School.

Former President, leader and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a statue late Professor John Evans Fiifi Attah Mills, a former President of the Fourth Republic on the campus of the first Community Day Senior High School at Otuam, the hometown of late Prof. JEA Mills in the Central Region of Ghana.

As part of his tour of the Central Region, former President John Dramani together with his entourage and a vast crowd visited Otuam Community Day Senior High School to unveil the statue and commemorate the unprecedented departure of the Asomdwoe hene on the 24th day of July, 2012, following a short illness.

Otuam Community Day School was the first Community Day SHS to be built in the country and was inaugurated on September 17, 2015 at Otuam by John Dramani Mahama, the then Minister of Education, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the Regional Minister, the Parliamentary candidate of the constituency, the Chief of Otuam and some other dignitaries. The day of inauguration was also seen as an opportune time to be ceased to pay homage to Prof. JEA Mills.

On his recent vist to the Region, John Mahama visited the school to pay some one minute silence in honor of Professor Evans Attah Mills. He also had the opportunity to explore the rooms once again to see if everything is in good condition: the well furnished/equipped computer and science labs, the offices, the conducive classrooms and the general E-block.
