NPP Is Behaving As If We Begged Them To Lead Us-Alhassan Suhuyini

The member of Parliament of Parliament for the Tamale North Constituency, Honorable Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini says the NPP and by extension the government is behaving as much if Ghanaians begged them to lead.

Alhassan Suhuyini made this observation during discussions on topical matters making rounds in the country on the Newday show with host, Berla Mundi and co-panelist Dr Charles Bissue of the New Patriotic Party.

First among the discussions was the recent price hikes on food commodities and the denial by the Minister for Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

It would be recalled that the Minister for Agriculture came out to denying claims of increments in some food commodities indicating that statistics available to the ministry shows otherwise. He further indicated that prices are rather expected to go down within the shortest possible time.

Commenting on the matter, Honorable Suhuyini indicated that, he is surprised the Minister is denying what the people feel and know with regards to prices in the market. He further reiterated that he was worried with the posture of the Minister.

” It is very worrying for the Minister to dispute what we feel and know. It appears the Ministry is not in touch with the reality on the ground. How can he say there is no increment when in-fact there is. Maybe he needs to visit the markets by himself. This government and for that matter, the NPP behaves as if we begged them to lead us. They have difficulty in showing humility when it comes to matters of public concern” he proffered.

The Tamale North MP also advised the Minister to get better statistics from Bawumia because in opposition, the latter used to go to markets, gets prices of items and criticize the government.
