With that been said, let’s get right into this article.

A recent incident that occurred in parliament and has sparked massive reactions across all social media platforms is when an NPP MP unexpectedly sat on the lap of his fellow NDC MP in parliament.

The incident occurred during the dissolution of the 7th parliament of the Republic of Ghana as there were unexpected chaos in the Parliament House after the NDC MPs occupied the seats meant for the Members of parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NPP MPs had no choice than to occupy the minority section in parliament when they walked in as not all the MPs from the incumbent party agreed to that decision which resulted in Ursula Owusu reacting to the situation.

The member of parliament for Ablekuma West, Mr Akandoh speaking in an interview with Winston Amoah and Evans Mensah explained what really occurred during when Ursula unexpectedly sat on his lap in parliament whilst she refused to sit with her party and moved to the majority side where the NDC MP’s occupied.

“We sat at the majority side, the right hand side of where the speaker sits. So when they came in , all of them moved to the minority, the left side and sat down but Ursula refuses to that side”, He said.

“...And when she came back, she sat on my lap. I didn’t want to touch her”.

Akandoh also revealed that, he didn’t want to meet Ursula with any force when She unexpectedly sat on his lap.

“She sat on my lap. I didn’t sit on her lap. My wife should be complaining and not her husband”, he added.

Was it right or wrong for Ursula Owusu to unexpectedly sit on the lap of the NDC MP, Akandoh whilst refusing to join her colleagues at the minority side?

Do you think it was right for the NDC MPs to occupy the majority side in parliament during the dissolution of the 7th parliament?
