Sam George is one of the few public figures in the country who have made some comments about the e-levy making him gain the ‘unpatriotic Ghanaian’ tag. According to the deputy finance minister, people who fail to comply to the rules of the constitution can be arrested.
These rules and regulations have the e- levy being passed as a legal bill which must be obeyed by all Ghanaians. The payment of the e-levy by Ghanaians who have registered mobile money is compulsory.

However, Sam George made a public comment where he revealed that he will not pay the e-levy and nothing can be done to him. He stated that no one can arrest him, and he said all of this on live television.
After the full effect of the e-levy, people have questioned whether the deputy finance minister is capable of arresting Sam George. If this is not possible, then according to them, they should know that the laws made are not worth following.
