Kennedy Agyapong duped

Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central has gone bonkers after he was duped in attempt to acquire a land.

Narrating his ordeal on Net 2 TV’s “The Seat Show” on Monday, the maverick politician lamented how a young man called Ampofo at Ketase, in the Eastern region led him to an old man and the late chief of the Area to pay huge sums of money for acres of land he didn’t get.

“The trend of defrauding people in Ghana now is unfortunate. If I had my way, I would advise people against buying lands on top of the hills at Aburi. All they do is take money and fail to release land.

“What pained me most was the old man who was in cahoots with Ampofo. I went with them to the newly installed chief, and he looked me in the eye and lied that I had not paid any money to him,” he explained on the show.

Irked by the unfortunate incident, he sounded a warning to Ampofo and another accomplice who works with Fire Service at Akropong- Mampong.

“Do not think this is the end of what you did. I am coming after you and Ampofo as well,” Mr Agyapong retorted.

Kennedy Agyapong was led to share his own experience after a Jamaican American who has naturalized to be Ghanaian was also caught up in the same situation.

After many attempts to seek justice from the law court failed to yield results, she took to social media to narrate her story and called on President Akufo-Addo to help her get justice.

The woman whose landed property at Eastern region was acquired by a person who has failed to pay her the money, complained bitterly to the President of the Republic.

“I’m back here in the United State penniless. I’m battling diabetes and someone is deliberately keeping my hard-earned money in Ghana. Nana Akufo-Addo, I plead with you to seek justice for me. This is not the Ghana Kwame Nkrumah fought to gain Independence for. I mortgaged my building here in the US to come to Ghana to establish a school to educate the people. Now, I’m penniless because my money is locked up,” she lamented.

Reacting to the woman’s video which has gone viral, Kennedy Agyapong advised perpetrators of fraud to desist from duping Ghanaians and foreigners.

“This bad attitude if not checked immediately can drive away investors. This woman is not the only victim. I am a victim myself and there are many expatriates who have experienced same. It is unacceptable. If Akufo-Addo is watching the Seat Show. He should find this woman and compensate her for the loss,” Kennedy Agyapong said.
