Popular Ghanaian politician and social media personality, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who's the current Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency in the Volta region has finally reacted to the recent statement of the Minister of Defence, Honourable Dominic Nitiwul concerning the renting of a luxurious jet for the President's trips.
Honorable Dominic Nitiwul has today justified President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's usage of private jets for his various trips abroad. Answering to some questions on the floor of the parliament, the Minister of defence stated clearly that the President will need more than just a Falcon when travelling with 20 persons and more. He said the current aircraft Akufo-Addo is using has so many challenges and he cannot shower in the plane.
This statement of Honourable Dominic Nitiwul has sparked a lot of controversies on the internet and it's still causing a very serious stir online.
Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa reacting to his statement said how will Dominic Nitiwul tell the parliament that cost doesn't matter in considering which aircraft to charter for President Akufo-Addo. He said after listening to the minister of defence response to the question he asked him, we're now aware that the Presidential Jet which Akufo-Addo uses is in great condition and was also available for his trip to France, Belgium and South Africa except that it wasn't luxurious enough compared to the £15,000 an hour Airbus ACJ320neo.
