The current government has come under some criticism for the hardships and challenges people go through on a daily basis despite the many promises by the government to make life better for ordinary citizens. The government argues that the outbreak of the coronavirus has negatively affected the government policies and interventions just like in many other countries.
For most people, those promises were made just to convince them for votes but nothing more.
The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Abass Nurudeen has indicated that the high levels of inconsistencies and lies by members of the NPP government shows a lack of respect for the ordinary Ghanaian.
He made this assertion during a discussion on the current challenges being confronted by NABCO employees on the Newday show on TV3.
The government prior to the implementation of the NABCO policy indicated that employees would eventually be employed permanently in the public or private sector.
He was of the view that the government has not been consistent nor truthful to the good people of Ghana.
" One thing that has been a major feature of this Akuffo-Addo, Bawumia, NPP government has been the shameful levels of inconsistency by their major spokespersons on some of their flagship policies"
He reiterated that whilst some senior members of the government have come out to indicate the government's intention to provide permanent employment for NABCO beneficiaries, others are denying that claim.
He indicated that as a country, Ghana should have a youth employment policy that would absorb the teeming youth of the country.
There are alarming rates of youth
unemployment in the country and there are calls by civil society organizations for the government to take a critical look at it because it has national security implications.
