Honourable Mavis Hawa Koomson, the member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency has been silent for a while as the race for the NPP flag bearership role continues to see more new faces. This has got a lot of Ghanaians wondering if she is also planning to join the race.
Hawa Koomson has served the New Patriotic Party for several years and it will come as no surprise if she decides to aspire for the position of the flag bearer of the party. It will definitely take her a major test if she decides to join the race because, she would be competing with the likes of Dr Mahmudu Bawumia and Alan Kyeremateng who are also big members of the party among others.
Speaking in an interview with a radio station earlier today, Hawa Koomson dropped a simple message concerning her intentions to aspire for the NPP flag bearership role. According to her, this is not the right time to talk about such things and she has not thought of joining the race yet.
She stated that, she will only decide to to join the race when the right time comes. Hawa Koomson said that, her current focus is on creating a better reputation for herself and Ghanaians by working hard to satisfy the needs of all the people in her constituency and people who also benefit from her ministry.
“My current focus is not on aspiring for the flag bearership role in the party. We have to wait for the right time before making any changes. Our decisions are currently aimed at making sure that, the needs of the people and the members of the party are fully met. So basically I have no intentions of joining the race for now”, she said.
