The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is one of those few MPs who is very much focused on the welfare and well being of his constituents. As such, the MP has brought on board, various interventions to support the constituents of North Tongu. Few weeks ago, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa launched the Furniture and Footwear Bank (FFB) which is aimed at tackling the issue of children having no footwears to wear for school and some schools complaining of inadequate number of furniture.
The Honorable Member has once again introduced a new intervention for his constituents and this time it went to the farmers within the North Tongu Constituency. Hon. Samuel Okudzeto on Saturday, handed over a new Combine Harvester and Power Tillers to the Aveyime Rice Farmers' Association in the North Tongu Constituency. Prior to this intervention, the rice farmers had to rely on expensive and unreliable rentals but for the first time in the history of the association, they would have access to their own dedicated Combine Harvester and Power Tillers. The machines would operate on the rice farms at a subsidized rate which is far below market charges according to the MP.
Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa added that the intervention is valued in excess of 300,000 Ghana cedis. He further stated that this intervention would ensure that the rice farmers would not only complete harvesting before the festive season but also guarantee the farmers enhanced profits.
Several Ghanaians reacted to the intervention brought on board by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. Many commended him for his efforts and encouraged the Honorable Member to continue to support the constituents. One account user went ahead to confer a future presidential status on the Honorable Member. Daddywanga Adu Murphy wrote, "Future Presidential Material, very sympathetic and visionary".
