NDC Effects Leadership Of The Party's Parliamentary Group For The 8th Parliament

After extensive deliberation by the Functional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has hinted that it will nominate Member of Parliament for Nadowli Kaleo Constituency for Speaker of Parliament position. Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, an experienced legislator who have served as MP for 28 years, a former chairman of many committees in parliament including public Accounts. A two times minority leader and an impartial Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

The incumbent minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu will be definitely crown the majority leader of the 8th Parliament. Harruna Iddrisu have been granted the opportunity to contest the majority leader for the House of Parliament respectively. Hon. James Klutse Avedzi, MP for Ketu North as Deputy Majority Leader in parliament.

The party has also nominated Muntaka Mubarak as majority Chief Whip, MP for Asawasi Constituency, Hon Ahmed Ibrahim first Deputy Majority Chief Whip, MP for Banda Constituency and Hon. Comfort Doyoe Ghansah as second Deputy Majority Chief Whip, MP for Ada Constituency.

" The Functional Committee also resolved upon a decision being delivered by the Supreme Court in the petition filed to challenge the results of the recently- conducted presidential election, there will be a revision of the leadership of the party in parliament in other to reflect the exigencies of the 8th Parliament and demands of current dynamics in the country."

The steering committee's decision to select vibrant young leaders for the 8th Parliament gives enough relief to John Mahama when rulling of Supreme Court favours the NDC.
