Akufo-Addo Storms Oti-Volta Region With Development

As part of the country's development, the incumbent president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo proposed the creation of new Regions out of the existing ten Regions of the country.

In all, six new Regions were created out of the already ten Regions raising the number to sixteen (16) Regions.

The main aim of the Government that triggered the whole move was to ensure equal distribution of National cakes, making sure all are served as deserve.

It has been noted that the Volta Region which was also divided to Oti Region was so slow in terms of development, but the incumbent president deemed it necessary to ensure development across.

Earlier calls made on the central government indicated that, the Region did not have good road network.

Currently, the president has responded to their worsen plight, why did I say this? This is the reason.

Nkonya is a small town and is designated as the capital of Biakoye distract, a district in the Oti Region of Ghana.

Nkonya Ahenkro is bounded to the East by the village of Hohoe, and on south by the village of Dafor.

It has about nine subdivided towns that starts with: Asakyiri when entering the town from Kpano then Akloba, Owulibito, Ntsumru, Kedjebi, Ntjmda, Tayi, Tell, and finally Wurupong.

The area has a population of about 80, 813, it's elevation is 153m(502ft).

The known language spoken there is Nkonya language with farming and hunting being their main occupation.

Now president Akufo-Addo has stormed the area with massive development in terms of roads at this era.

Construction and Rehabilitation of the Nkonya Wurupong-Kwamikrom road in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region is increasingly on course.

Roads are very crucial and are of great demand at all sectors of the nation.

We should have major and minor roads especially in farming communities like Nkonya and others.

Let's look at why roads are essentially needed by the good people of our great country.

1. You will admit that the better our roads, the safer our lives: Mostly in Ghana, lives are lost as a result of poor roads either by potholes or sharp corners.

2. Farming communities should have good roads to enable our good farmers transport their farm products to market centres and home as well.

This greatly will reduce the wastage of farm products and the loss our farmers normally incur upon their hard labour.

In all, you will realize that the move taken by the president in ensuring that we have good roads constructed across the country will have immense impact on the good people, for we can drive and ride safely and again transport our properties from one area to another within the country.
