Marking the May Day celebration, the member of parliament earlier visited some local food vendors in her constituency to have first hand experience of what the challenges they face are.
In supporting their business, the member of parliament presented them with a cash donation and non perishable items as a token to help in expanding their business.
"Our favourite food vendors are our sisters, aunties and mothers and they sacrifice so much to give us all the head start we need in the mornings with their koko and kose, waakye and kenkey which we enjoy so much. My favorite being hausa koko and “bofroot”" she said.
As a woman in a leadership position, Dakoa Newman pledged to continue to empower and encourage other women to reach their highest ideals.
