The run up to the 2020 elections is getting intense as parties looks for ways and means to woo not just voters but leading figures in the parties are seen crosscarpetting.
The Asawasi Constituency for long has been a safe seat for the NDC making it a hard task for the NPP to snach. A leading member in the camp of NDC who is very instrumental in the campaign and successive victories of the party is Prince Akuter. The news is that he has officially parted ways with the NDC and joined the NPP.
At a press briefing today in Kumasi, he was happily welcomed into the elephant fraternity, an event attended by the NPP regional, Constituency executives, and MCE for Asokore Mampong Municipality, Hon Alidu Seidu were full of smiles and enthusiasm. Mr Akuter was assured of total support and cooperation to have more NDC members in the Constituency join the NPP and help the party capture the seat from the NDC.
The defection of Prince Akuter is a welcome campaign strategy for NPP and a big blow to the NDC
