24th Nation’s Address: Asantehene And Other Chiefs to Take Vaccine Publicly on Tuesday

Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo just said his 24th address to the nation. In there, he stated the advantages anyone who takes the jab stands at getting. He confirmed that the Food and Drug Board have certified the vaccine and it is not harmful to use.

On Wednesday, Ghana’s vaccine dropped and the whole world went talking about it.

Nana Akufo Addo stated that he, the first lady, vice president and the second lady will receive their jabs on live television at Ghana’s two major hospitals. Subsequently, on Tuesday, Asantehene, Ga Mantse and other chiefs will also take their jabs on live television for the entire nation to witness how safe the vaccine is. It will also make the entire nation acknowledge the importance of AstraZeneca’s vaccine.

This action is taken to fight the growing false news about the vaccine. Many Ghanaians are of the view that the vaccine is built by foreigners to kill our fertility in both men and women. This has made every poll on the “jab taking” record many Ghanaians expressing their resistance to get vaccinated.

The arrival of the vaccine also arrived with issues and drama. Many Ghanaians didn’t understand why there was a whole festival for the arrival of the vaccine. I mean, it was needless. Many Ghanaians thought.

Again, the United States’ Sky News also described Ghana as a poor country in disclosing the news that Ghana has also received its vaccine. This derogated description of Ghana made some Ghanaians criticize the news agency.

Meanwhile, celebrities like Nana Aba Anamoah questioned Ghanaians how they think they are not poor. According to her, we are poor and shouldn’t feel ashamed when described by that. instead, we should channel our anger towards the right people and institutions.

Anyway, the President has spoken and it is time to prepare to take the vaccine.
