MMDCEs Appointment: Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly finally confirm Amoah Awuku

Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region has finally confirmed Government nominee, Hon Michael Amoah Awuku as the MCE.

In their first meeting held last week, the nominee failed to secured 2/3 of the overall votes which called for the second confirmation date after 10 days, according to the law.

At the second meeting on Friday saw many dignitaries, led by Hon John Hawkson Anane, Presiding Member, Mr I.K. Acheampong, Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Hon Kwabena Senkyiren, Ashanti Regional Minister REP& Ashanti Regional NADMO Director, Hon Benito Owusu Bio, Dep Min of Lands & MP for Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, traditional leaders and other dignitaries were present

The total number eligible for voting was 31, with 23 voted YES representing 74% whiles 8 voted NO representing 23.8%

After the confirmation, the MCE, Hon Michael Amoah Awuku expressed gratitude to the Almighty God, H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and gallant Assembly Members for the support and endorsement.

He indicated that, "together with the stakeholders we would build Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal to the benefit of all constituents".

Hon Kwabena Senkyiren, the Ashanti Regional Minister representative was grateful to the Assembly Members as there is no time to delay for the development of the municipality.

Also, Hon John Hawkson Anane, Presiding Member, Assembly Members and party executives after the confirmation assured their willingness to support the development agenda of the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality at all times.
