Important Notice From ECG: List Of Places To Be Affected By Dumsor - ECG Confirms On Ekosiisen

The General Manager in charge of Public Affairs at the Electricity Company of Ghana, Mr. William Boateng has listed some places that will be affected by Dumsor in the coming days.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen political program, Mr. William Boateng indicated that some parts of the Greater Accra region will be taken off the national grid in a load shedding timetable to be rolled out.

He indicates that the exercise which most Ghanaians term as Dumsor will take place between 10th and 17th May 20201.

He says the affected communities have been categorized into different groups. He adds that whilst a group is off, another will be enjoying electricity and vice versa.  

“Every group will be off for four times, and it will spread in the day and night. It will take place from 10th to 17th, 2021. We have made all the affected areas ready and we will inform them accordingly. The list will be out officially soon but those in the North-Eastern part of Accra will be affected”.

He mentioned places including, Mallam, Abaka Labaz, and parts of Odorkor to be affected.

Those in group A will start from 10th May from 6 am to 6 pm. Places to be affected include Insakina, Mallam Apiase, Top Base, Kokompe, Zaminama, Kwashibu, Abaka, Lapaz, Alhaji, Dansoman Control Market, Old Barrier Ashariga, Lamtey Mills. Odorkor official town, odorgono, Banana –in, Chorkor, Kwashibu, Nii Boi town, sowutuom Ablekuma new town, GBC staff quarters, Old woman, and Kologono”. He noted.

He says the situation has come about as a result of some expansion works being undertaking at the bulk supply point at Pokuasi, and urged the affected persons to bear with them.

“The engineers advised that all the lines must be laid down for a tie-in to enable the machines to work properly. GRIDCo made us aware that we have to shed load to help the contractors”. Mr. William Boateng told Philip Osei Bonsu.
