The Member of Parliament for Tamale North Constituency Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has said that for President Akufo Addo to have the Understanding that a criticism amounts to a campaign against his government or policy is dangerous for Ghana's democracy.
Alhassan Suhuyini made this statement on 'THE BIG ISSUE' on CITI TV yesterday, 5th June 2021, when he gave his opinion on President Akufo Addo's speech that a media station (Joy FM) has launched a campaign against the free SHS.
According to him, the President's reference to a campaign against the Free SHS is perhaps one example of how his attitude and approach has personally contributed to this insecurity that many media Personnels feel understand his government.
"According to the president, a criticism amounts to a campaign against his regime or policy, and for a democrat to have that kind of Understanding, it is dangerous for the future of our democracy in this country." - he said
He added that President Akufo Addo should understand that a criticism of a policy is not a campaign against his regime or policy.
