Who Put The Wife Of The President As An Article 71 office holders? - Kwesi Pratt Boldly Asks

The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Junior, has asked that who put the wives of the President and the Vice-president as Article 71 office holders?

Kwesi Pratt asked this question on 'Good Morning Ghana' on Metro television this morning, July 7th, 2021, when he commented on the approval of allowances for the spouses of the President and the Vice-president.

According to Kwesi Pratt, If you read the 1992 constitution of Ghana, it clearly defines who an Article 71 officer holder is, but we have a situation where the Executive in collaborations with committees they have set up, and are importing other categories of citizens into the Article 71 office holders.

"Who put the wife of the President into Article 71 office holders? Is that in the constitution? Is that how we amend the constitution? Because effectively the constitution has been amended." He said

He added that the wife of the president and the wife of the Vice-president is not Article 71 office holders so effectively, they have amended the constitution by adding them into Article 71 office holders through illegality.
