President Akufo-Addo Didn’t Sack Col. Damoah; Ghanaians Reacts Massively To His Decision

It has been announced that, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has exercised a decision to bring to an end, the work of the Commissioner-General, Customs Division at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Col. Kwadwo Damoah (RTd).

According to letter addressed to him, he was asked by President Akufo-Addo to bring his job to an end and hand over to his deputy following the expiration of his contract of service.

“Following the expiration of your contract of service as Commissioner (Customs Division) of the Ghana Revenue Authority on 13th October 2021, the President of the Republic has directed that effective Friday 26th August 2022 you hand over duty and office to the Acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Service) Mr Asiedu Iddisah, who will act as the Commissioner (Customs Division) pending the President’s substantive appointment.”

According to the letter from the President to Col. Damoah, the President never sacked him but rather, he ordered him to end his service as his contract has expired.

Meanwhile, most media houses have taken this in a different direction proclaiming that, Col. Kwadwo Damoah has been sacked by the President following the “Labianca Food Scandal” which was uncovered by the OSP.(Office Of Special Prosecutor).

Following the decision by the government to all Col. Damoah’s service to an end, there have been massive reactions on social media. Below are some reactions;
