
The brother of President Nana Akufo-Addo known as Edward Akufo-Addo has won a defamation judgement of GHC10m.
Mr Edward Akufo-Addo filed a suit against Class Media Group, a journalist and two panelist who alleged that he was using the Presidential jet for private business last year. The persons involved are the Host of the Show Kwabena Bobbie Ansah, Thompson and Listowel Nana Kusi Poku who is said to have made the accusations.
The high Court ordered the political commentator, Listowel Nana Kusi Poku, who made the accusations on the personal use of Ghana's presidential jet by Mr Edward Akufo-Addo the brother of the President to pay 10 million Ghana cedis in damages. The GHC10m is the exact amount Mr Edward Akufo-Addo plead the court to grant him in the suit.
According to the report political commentator Listowel Nana Poku failed to respond to the suit. The court has also ordered him to make a full retraction and render an apology to Mr Akufo-Addo.
