It was rumored on social media that since the assumption of Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as the Speaker of Parliament, the main departments already in Parliament have been neglected and the Speaker has chosen to use his own people for the job. One allegation was that the Speaker had sidelined the Public Affair committee whiles he focuses on his own selected staff to do the official assignments. In a letter signed by the director of the Public Affairs department, all these rumors were clarified and the truth was spit out.
" We would like to emphasize that the public affairs department continues to remain committed to the communications management of the office of the Speaker of Parliament and in the performance of any affected duties as ,ay be assigned by the Right Honorable Speaker, Bagbin. It is true that Speaker Bagbin has his own communication team but it may be noted that the communication team have an entirely different mandate from that of the Public Affairs directorate.".
