It is only natural to have a child take after their parents in terms of looks. It is usually nothing out of the normal when such happens. It however assumes a whole new level of admiration and awe when these attributes are very extreme. In other words, even though it is normal to have a child resemble their parents, the level to which people admire and express surprise of this phenomenon will always be there especially when the resemblance is really close.
The apple does not fall too far off the tree is an English adage which goes in line with a famous Twi saying which goes “ɔkɔtɔ nwo anoma”.
An old picture of late Ghanaian President Jerry Rawlings in his youthful age has surfaced. Not that this is the first time such images of him have popped up. As a matter of fact, we were inundated with many of them when he passed on.
Our reason for being intrigued with the picture however is the damming resemblance it shows him and his son Kimathy Rawlings.
The old poof the former President seems to have new taken before he joined the Ghana Armed Forces. On the other hand, that of his son, in suit appears to be a shot taken during a formal occasion.
Are you simply not marveled at the strong genes they share?
