Why Minister Was Asked To Lie Down Flat On The Floor Before He Can Meet Paramount Chief.

The minister of Land and Natural Resources, honorable Abu Jinapor humbles himself and lies down flat on the floor to greet the paramount chief of Dagbon, his Majesty Ya-Na Mahama Abukari

As tradition demand, no matter your rank or where you come from, before one can meet the paramount chief of Dagbon, he has to lie down flat on the floor and pay respect, then he would be allowed to see the chief.

The humble minister obeyed the instructions and lied down, then he was allowed to meet the chief

Meanwhile, the minister led his Ministry fa One Week official tour of the five Northern Regions, namely Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Savannah and North East Regions, yesterday, Monday, 4th October, 2021.

The minister together with his subjects set off with a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon, His Majesty, Ya-Na Mahama Abukari, and, took the opportunity of his presence at the Gbewa Palace to join the elders of the Palace to inspect the tree planted by the Ya-Na on June 11th this year, the Green Ghana Day.

Happily, this tree and many others planted on the Green Ghana Day are doing well across the country. While in Yendi, Abu Jinapor engaged several stakeholders in the Iron Ore industry, chief amongst them been officials of GIISDEC.

Issues of deforestation, encroachment on public lands and forest reserves in the Tamale metropolis, as well as sand winning were some of the contemporary challenges I discussed, in detail, with the Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC).

"Hopefully, out of these field tours, we shall get a better understanding of the current situation relating to the management and exploitation of our lands and natural resources and work to find solutions" he said
