Are you Gay? Gabby Otchere-Darko pushed to a tight conner with this Question

Saturday, 9th October 2021

Gabby Otchere Darko is the Executive Secretary to President Akuffo Addo. He is also a cousin to the president of the republic and the finance minister.

Gabby has been on the defensive side of the LGBTQI community since the discussion erupted sometime in 2018. The was everywhere defending the president's famous "bound to happen comments" on CNN.

This year, the opening and subsequent closure of the LGBTQI office in Accra saw the topic re emerging for national discussion once again. This discussion is still ongoing as eight members of parliametary filed a private member's bill to criminalise the menace in Ghana. There have since been pro and anti groupings petitioning parliament on the matter.

Beyond the petition, many have taken to social media and traditional media to state their positions on the bill. Some for reasons best known to them just make neutral comments about the bill.

Garry Otchere Darko is one of such people who has been publicly defending the LGBTQI on social media. This morning, he sought to tease the MP for Ningo-Prampram for being firm and loud on his opposition to the LGBTQI. Taking to Facebook, the NPP stallwat wrote "If politics is all about populism and popularity then I have fantastic news for the NDC: they have found their next presidential candidate and he is the MP for Ningo-Prampram Sam George. Young, articulate, driven, bold and extremely popular. The main sponsor of the anti LGBTQI bill"

Many of his followers commented on the post. One of such netizens is Elikem E. K. Kotoko of the NDC. He sought to find out from the NPP man if he was a gay. He replied, "So you think the NDC will stoop so low into your gutters for lessons. Stop hallucinating! This LGBTQI bill is bruising you. Im sensing you were or are one yourself cos this your level of hurt and advocacy can't just be born out of human rights. Are you Gay Kojo Besia?"

Gabby is yet to respond to the question which has put him in a tight conner as at the time of filing this report. What do you think of this question by Elikem? Take to the comments section to air your views.
