Ursula Owusu Transfers Ownership of Hire Purchase Taxis to Drivers in Her Constituency

In her effort to economically empower her constituents, the Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has handed over taxis to  beneficiary drivers who have completed payment as part of a hire purchase scheme. The Drivers had initially entered into an agreement to take the vehicles on hire purchase basis and were required to pay 30% interest on their values. But considering the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the economy, Mrs. Ursula who also doubles as Minister for Communication and Digitisation removed the interest on the  cost of the vehicles. At a short ceremony today, the MP presented documents relinquishing ownership of the vehicles to drivers with refunds made to those who had already paid the 30 percent interest.

The Member of Parliament also met senior citizens from the Mampong Okai electoral area to show her gratitude for their support during the 2020 elections. She discussed with them issues concerning the development of the  constituency and also visited the sick among them. Mrs. Ekuful later inspected ongoing renovation works on the Dansoman Children's Park and the Tunga Islamic School building.The Dansoman Children's Park is being renovated into a state of the art recreational facility and would have a   playground, an amphitheater, basketball court, volleyball court and an astroturf upon completion.
