There has been so much brouhaha over the recently held birthday party of Majority Speaker of Parliament and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. The birthday was not so much of a problem but the cake that was cut as a sign of the celebrations. The cake represented the infamous E-levy and this incurred the wrath of many Ghanaians.
Alhassan Suhuyini while addressing the issues relating to the e-levy cake and the Yentua demonstration maintained that it was clear that Ghanaians were not in support of the levy. He mentioned that the massive support of the protestors and the nature of the cake has incensed Ghanaians to the point of total rejection.
The MP for Tamale North said he is aggrieved by that fact that Osei Kyei Mensah is his personal friend and they are all also MPs and yet he never received an invite. Looking into the cameras, the MP asked why he didn’t receive an invite from the birthday celebrant.
The e-levy bill which was expected to be withdrawn tomorrow, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 has seen some rescission as the Deputy Minority Leader while presenting the Business Statement last week noted that the bill will no longer be withdrawn.
