Don’t Tell Me To Retract Any Statement I Make On Your Show Or You Will Hear ‘Worse’ Than That

The First gentleman of the Land has been touring parts of the Ghana for some months now. Last Sunday President Akufo-Addo started his visit of some areas in the Ashanti Region and has been seen commissioning projects and cutting sods as well. Despite these developments, the economic situation of the country has placed the President in a bad light for many people. There have been calls for a reshuffling or sacking of some non-performing ministers of the president.

Fred Agbenyo, a leading member of the NDC Communications team has questioned the capacity of Akufo-Addo to perform as President. He explained that it is obvious that the president is too old and can no longer govern the country. He called on the President to apologize to Ghanaians and then resign to save Ghanaians from the untold hardship that he has brought with his government.

Fred insisted that Akufo-Addo has become a problem for Ghanaians to solve and until he resigns there will be no development in the country. Roland Walker, the host and Titus Walker, the NPP panelist on the show fumed at the choice of words and called on Fred to apologize. According to Roland Walker, the use of the words ‘old’ and ‘should resign’ were in bad taste and had to be withdrawn.

Fred Agbenyo refused to retract and after so much persistence from Roland boldly told Roland that if he continues to pester him to retract he will have no choice than to say something worse about the president.

“Walker, don’t ever say that again. Otherwise I will say worse than that. If you ever ask me to retract anything I have said I will say worse than that” Fred said. With no calm in sight, Roland put out a disclaimer regarding the words used on the president. This is not the first time these comments have been used by an NDC communicator. Felix Kwakye Ofosu has a similar comment where he says Akufo-Addo isn’t fit for president but only came to fulfil a childhood dream.
