Insecurity in Nigeria is a threat to Ghana’s peace, security – Peter Toobu on Abuja jailbreak

An individual from the Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament, Peter Toobu, has approached security organizations in the country to enact their knowledge organization and help Nigeria to catch its jailbreakers.


As per him, this is because weakness in Nigeria is a danger to the harmony and security in Ghana and the whole of West Africa all in all.


Talking on Newsnight on Monday, Mr. Toobu said that "security as we generally say is an aggregate liability and dread assaults are simply signs that the entire of West Africa is under danger. These escapes have been occurring frequently in Nigeria."


"Yet, it's anything but a migration administration matter alone. It is a matter for all the state security and knowledge organizations to ascend to the event and say 'we need to help our Nigerian partners since uncertainty in Nigeria is a danger to the harmony and security of Ghana'," he added.


This comes after the Ghana Immigration Service gave a high alert for the capture of 443 detainees who got away from the Kuje Maximum Security Prison in Abuja in Nigeria.


Out of the number are 64 Boko Haram suspects who were safeguarded by the Jihadists Group Boko Haram on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.


It said the suspects were normal to be rushing to adjoining nations, including Ghana through both endorsed and non-supported courses.
