I Have Been Lenient With You Because You Are Not A Lawyer – Paul Finally Replies NDC MP

Last week Murtala Mohammed, MP for Tamale Central stormed the studios of Good Evening Ghana for an interview. According to the NDC law maker Paul is a biased journalist who is working for the government. He mentioned that Paul’s analysis is usually flawed. Paul in one of his analysis had pointed to 2 by elections in Dome Kwabenya and Assin North. He had even gone on in his opinion who might win. Murtala however felt angry at this analysis and raised questions on the show.

“I have never seen a pedestrian and the most elementary analysis given to an issue than what I witnessed. I have regretted he is not hosting this programme today. I would have loved he was here so I look straight into his face and speak truth to him,” Murtala said.

In A sharp rebuttal today, Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Paul Adom Otchere who wasn’t present for last Thursday’s programme retuned the gesture with a simple message for Murtala Mohammed. Paul explained that he has never said he is a lawyer but what he does is journalism. He questioned if Murtala has been successful as a lawyer because his name is not found in the book of great lawyer.

Later Paul was notified that Murtala isn’t a lawyer but a trained teacher. Paul then calmed down and said he will go gentle on Murtala because he now knows that he didn’t know much about legal affairs. Paul mentioned that no one can challenge his analysis because they express truth and comes after so much research. He dared anyone who disagrees with his arguments to step forward and challenge him

“He doesn’t know anything about lawyer. I am sorry. He doesn’t know anything. He didn’t speak to Haruna Iddrisu and Mahama Ayariga. He is a trained teacher so I will pity him and not send him to the abyss as I promised. I don’t know if he is the programmes manager at Metro TV. It is not surprising he didn't understand the analysis,” Paul said

It will be interesting to see if Murtala will react to these new missiles aimed at him. Murtala is one of the vociferous NDC MPs and it doesn’t look likely he will be quiet. But can we say Paul is entirely wrong to say there will be two by elections? Everything points to that actually but to name the winners and losers will be a far cry.
