Be serious, learn to engage intellectually – NPP German blast Adongo over criticism of Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) branch in Germany has blasted Bolgatanga Central Member of Parliament Isaac Adongo over his criticism of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a statement from the NPP Germany, it says it has cited some comments from the NDC MP in relation to Dr. Bawumia's lecture on digitalization and how it seeks to open up the Ghanaian economy for exploits in development.

According to the group, the comments seem to put the whole discourse on the rails of comedy and sarcasm when he is deemed to know better.

Insisting that the commentary should not be coming from someone who claims to be an economist, the NPP Branch in Germany advises Isaac Adongo to learn to argue intellectually.

“First Sammy Gyamfi sought to create the impression that Mahama was the one who started these, and now Adongo wants to drag down the respect Ghanaians accord MPs by playing a child's game with these projects. He is now likening Drone-tech for medical deliveries, GPS to foster businesses, and other works amongst others to his creative "e-gari", what a bunch of bird brains.

“We must be serious when we have the chance to discuss serious matters that bring development,” the NPP Germany statement signed by Communications Director Nana Osei Boateng has said.

NDC MP ADONGO MUST LEARN TO ENGAGE INTELLECTUALLY.

In circulation is an unfortunate commentary made by the NDC MP in relation to Dr. Bawumia's lecture on digitalization and how it seeks to open up the Ghanaian economy for exploits in development. His comments seem to put the whole discourse on the rails of comedy and sarcasm when he is deemed to know better. He has displayed an attitude one would not expect from someone who claims to be an economist.

The digitalization of the many sects of the Ghanaian economy is one phenomenon that Ghanaians have embraced because of the ease it brings to the daily errands of the ordinary people and the prospect it holds in changing the national economic scope. This is a farm that has been diligently ploughed and planted by the NPP government in order to better the economy.

Matters of such nature should be clearly distanced from ones that generate political battery. Since Dr. Bawumia's lecture, certain scores of the opposition NDC have tried to dismantle the efforts of government in this.

First Sammy Gyamfi sought to create the impression that Mahama was the one who started these, and now Adongo wants to drag down the respect Ghanaians accord MPs by playing a child's game with these projects. He is now likening Drone-tech for medical deliveries, GPS to foster businesses and other works amongst others to his creative "e-gari", what a bunch of bird brains.

We must be serious when we have the chance to discuss serious matters that bring development.

Long live Ghana, the Npp and Dr Bawumia.
