Massive Reactions As TV3 Ghana Drops This Picture Of Alban Bagbin On Social Media

The Legislature is one of the three arms of the government. It is also known as the Parliamentary function of the government, responsible for making laws in the country.

Whilst the executive implements the laws made by the parliament, the Judiciary interprets the laws. This is what is referred to as the separation of powers as each arm serves as a check on the other arm.

Whilst the President heads the executive arm as well as the entire country, the Legislature is led by Speaker of Parliament Alan Bagbin. Chief Justice Anin-Yeboah heads the Judiciary arm.

Interestingly, there have been reactions from the length and breadth of the country as TV3 Ghana posted the picture of Alan Bagbin on the social media platform. In the picture, Alan Bagbin stood with other members of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

The caption of the post indicated that Alan Bagbin has been elected as the new president of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. The body is made up of 180 member parliaments and the elections were held in Canada.

Is this not a win for Ghana? Many Ghanaians are overly excited about the announcement as they believe it is the beginning of bigger things and well-deserved honour for Ghana's speaker of Parliament.

What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
