First wife of the late Ekow Quansah Hayford has presented her filing forms to the EC this afternoon.
The ocassion was a solemn one as party faithfuls accompanied her to the EC's office. They were all clad in red and black, signaling the tragedy of the loss her husband and incumbent MP, the late Ekow Quansah.
Ekow was killed by unknown assailants on Friday 9 October 2020 when he was returning from a campaign event.
Ophelia Quansah has accepted replacing her husband and is currently the MP for Mfantseman constituency.
The forms she has just submitted is to enable her to contest on the ticket of the NPP in the upcoming December parliamentary elections.
Several party supporters sang solemn songs as they marched slowly to the office of the Electoral Commission.
Investigations on Ekow Quansah's murder case is still ongoing. Six suspects have been arrested so far.
