Tension in Kumasi as military, police storm Central Mosque

Strain is mounting at the Ashanti Regional Central Mosque, after furnished police and military staff are sent there to keep up peace. 

It follows a misconception between certain Muslims Youth and Ashanti Regional Chief Imam Sheik Abdul Mumin Harun

Staff of Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghana Police Service were at the Kumasi Central Mosque to secure the Regional Chief Imam and guarantee harmony. 

Some oppressed Muslim youth took steps to compel the Chief Imam, Sheik Abdul Mumin Harun, to leave over his supposed political professions. 

The wronged youth have blamed the Imam for been predisposition against the flagbearer of the resistance National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama. 

Muslims were having Jumma (Friday supplications) at the Central Mosque in the Ashanti Region when the security officials raged the spot. 

The Executive Secretary of Office of Regional Chief Imam, Ustaz Ahmed Seidu talking in a meeting expressed that adolescent had wanted to cause anarchy at the spot of love. 

As per him "the military and the police are not at the Central Mosque to scare anybody yet the individuals who will make an endeavor to create turmoil won't think that its simple." 

"In the event that anybody dare wrecks with the harmony we are getting a charge out of at the Kumasi Central Mosque , trust you me , that individual will think twice about it. The police and the military will manage that individual," he included.
