The much anticipated introduction of the new voters register compilation started today after it brought a lot of controversies among opposition parties against the Electoral Commission (EC). Recently, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) dragged the Electoral Commission (EC) to Court for introducing the New Voters Register at this latter part of just barely 6-months to the General Elections.
Meanwhile, On a news sighted by a reporter reporting on Asempa FM Ekosiisen Show, Some anonymous Landguards has flouced the EC officials at Gomoa-Dampase near Kokrobite causing the exercise to be suspended for today after the Landguards seized the various necessities that is needful for progressing I starting the registration.
According to the reporter, the reason why Landguards stormed the exercise was just because, the residents of Ga-South are not into agreement with Electoral Commission officials for registering with the Ga-South meanwhile the EC officials is registering with the Gomoa-East constituency meanwhile according to the hired Landguards, that area falls under Ga-South.
This made the district assembly member to intervene and elaborate on what caused the destruction. According to him, the Landguards was hired by the NPP chairman of Ga-South to because the it can affect his vote counts in the General Elections because his stronghold is Ga-South because he is native of Kokrobite.
