Parliament has resumed and the members reconvene at the house today. The Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, gave the caucus leaders the opportunity to present their opening remarks. He allowed the minority leader, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tamale South constituency, to give his opening remarks first. Introducing and presenting the minority leader to the house, the Speaker joked about the Alhaji status of Honorable Haruna Iddrisu.
"I will give the opportunity to the MP for Tamale South to give his remarks. He is not yet an Alhaji. (Pauses for a moment). I am told he is double Alhaji. So Double Alhaji Haruna Iddrisu, you may welcome members to the house.", Alban Bagbin joked.
Welcoming the members, Haruna Iddrisu reacted to the brawl which occurred in parliament and later gave his expectations for this year. He hoped that peace will prevail till the end.
