Galamsey or illegal mining has caused more harm than good to people. It is said that Ghana may begin importing water if our water bodies are not protected from the abuse of natural resources.
How can we afford to allow a few people to contaminate the water bodies with Cyanide and mercury just because they want to get some gold or diamond?
What can government do to discourage individuals from venturing into these illegal mining activities?
Why are some politicians reportedly behind the concept of community mining?
Well, TV3 Ghana has confirmed that the Kwahu Daa Chief has kicked against the Member of Parliament for that constituency.
Per the reports, the chiefs have indicated that their focus remains on ensuring the preservation of their farms.
Is this not worth noting that these chiefs are more interested in protecting or conserving their lands than making money from illegal or non-beneficial ways?
What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
