Dr. Bawumia Boldly Declares Presidential Ambition

Vice Ppresident Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has finally decalred his presidential ambition. For years, many especially of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have wondered who stands tall to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo after he had served his eight-year term. The disclosure as made by the Vice President could settle all thoughts and fears surrounding candidates who will be contesting for the flagbearership in 2023.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Adinkra of Kumasi based Pure FM, the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia indicated that the decision to either be a president of Ghana or not lies solely in the hands of God. According to him, his focus is to assist the President in his development agenda for now but if the future decides for him to be President, he will not hesitate to grab it.

"My only job is to be Vice President for now. as for the future its in God's hands. Its just my focus that I assist our President, Nana Akufo-Addo to rile this nation so that every citizen will be better off."

This clears the air on what Dr. Bawumia is contemplating all these while. It is said, that given his performance and loyalty, the party might reward his stewardship to become their flagbearer come 2023, when they prepare for the 2024 general elections. However, some names such as Alan Kyeremanten, the Minister for Trades and Industry, Joe Ghartey, Minister for Railway Development are potential contenders.
