2020 Eidul-Fitr Virtual Celebration To Held On Sunday May 24

The Spokesperson for the National Chief Iman, Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu has announced the 2020 Eidul-Fitr celebration will take place in Ghana on Sunday 24th May 2020.

Due to the effects of the Coronavirus, in offer to ensure social distanxing, this year's edition of the Eidul-Fitr prayer celebration will be held online virtually and will be led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu. The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation will telecast the event live on Sunday May 24, 2020 at 9:00am prompt.


The leader of the land, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo supported by his vice, Bawumiah, will use the occasion to address Muslims all over the nation.


Unfortunately, as we are not in normal times, all Muslims in the country are advised to celebrate the 2020 Eidul-Fitr with families at home by following the National Chief Imam live on the state television.

The Spokesperson used the opportunity to wish all Muslims in Ghana and beyond a happy 2020 Eidul-Fitr celebration.

He added that Ghanaians should abide by all the safety protocols in order to to defeat the virus.
