The Minister of Roads, Mr Kwasi Amoako-Atta, has said the Akufo-Addo government has built a larger number of streets in the Ashanti Region than any organization.
Amoako-Atta has subsequently dismissed cases that the administering New Patriotic Party (NPP) has neglected to build streets in the district which turns out to be the gathering's fortress.

During the 2021 State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Akufo-Addo repeated that 2021 will be second year of streets.
