Mahama Didn't Target Anyone, but Akufo-Addo's Gov't Is Vindictive – Kofi Amoabeng

It took me 15 years after leaving the military to establish UT - <a class=Kofi Amoabeng -"/>

Founder of the defunct UT Bank, Prince Kofi Amoabeng bemoaned the seeming lack of tolerance in the Akufo-Addo led government.

He says the current government is vindictive, wicked, and full of envy and jealous of successful people in the country.

This, he says, was not the case during the erstwhile administration led by former President John Dramani Mahama.

"One thing I know is that, at least, with the NDC, envy and jealousy and persecutions were limited, if they existed at all", he said on CTV on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

"I mean, the way they willy-nilly pursue people who are supposed to be making it; it happened only in Rawlings' time and so, for a civilian government, I find it surprising because my relationship with the NPP wasn't bad at all and if you want to close down a bank, I felt the least you could do is to call the directors of the bank and say 'because of A, B, C, we are closing down the bank', he explained.

Mr Amoabeng’s UT Bank and 9 other banks were closed down by the Bank of Ghana over some financial infractions during President Akufo-Addo's first term.
