Affordable Housing For Teachers, four years now not even a single unit has been completed. This was captured in the 2017 budget, "What are you going to do if you get the node to become Education Minister?"
Minister Designate for Education, Dr. Osei Adutwum was asked by one of the members of the appointment committee that in 2017 budget statement, it was captured, Government is to Partner with Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Coalition of Concern Teachers Ghana(CCTG) and Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SNNIT) to provide affordable housing for teachers within four(4) years. That is 2017 to 2021.
The 2017 budget document was shown to Dr. Osei Adutwum, and the appointment committee member said, "We are in 2021 not a single housing unit has been provided for Teachers".
Dr. Osei Adutwum responded, he will look into the budget statement and what is due for teachers he will make sure it's implemented.
Dr. Osei Adutwum stated that, he is concerned about Teachers welfare, he will maks sure the housing project is revisited.
Chiefs and some residents of Bosomtwe Constituency in Ashanti region were present at the ministerial vetting committee in parliament to offer their support to Dr. Osei Adutwum.
The paramount Chief of Tepa Traditional Council was at the ministerial vetting committee in support of Dr. Osei Adutwum's appointment.
