Fixthecountry Conveynor Oliver Barker-Vormawor has revealed that he embrace the news of a successful Coup d'etat in Burkina Faso.
"In a post shared on his official Facebook page on 1st September 2022, he wrote,
"I welcome news of the successful Coup in Burkina Faso."
Oliver Barker-Vormawor continued that he wish the junior ranks who took part in the coup well in their attempt to restore the country to democratic integrity.
The comments of Oliver comes in wake of the coup d'etat which happened yesterday in Burkina Faso. Heavy gunfire was heard on Friday, in Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou, emanating from both the main military base and some nearby residential areas.
According to Reuters, several armed soldiers were seen close to the presidential palace, some office buildings, and the national television station, which has stopped broadcasting. The military, led by Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, seized power in a coup in January, ousting President Roch Kabore .
Burkina Faso's military leader Lt Col Paul-Henri Damiba has been ousted by soldiers. Army captain Ibrahim Traore and a group of soldiers took over power by the gun on Friday, halting all political activities.
Oliver Barker is already waiting for supreme court ruling of a treason after his post last year was seen as encouraging coup.
