The Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu constituency, Honourable John Abdulai Jinapor has called on the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia who is also in charge of the Economic Management Team to tender in his resignation letter as the head of the team. He explains that the much touted team has been a monumental failure in these hard times.
According to John Jinapor, it is sad to accept that the government and his men have failed the country woefully considering the "bragging" it engaged during the campaigns. He indicated that, it has become apparent that the economic management has run out of management ideas, and the Vice President who is expected to show leadership has been mute since Ghanaians started making calls to his office.
Honourable John Jinapor made this statement in an interview with TV3 at the forecourt of Parliament earlier today. In the said interview, he was convinced that this is the time government must take responsibility and ease the burden on Ghanaians. However, he pointed out that the government and its Communicators have erred by defending their flaws in interviews with unjustifiable reasons.
Speaking further, John Jinapor made a humble call to the Vice President to resign from the position as the head of the country's economic management team if he is in deficit of ideas. He was quick to add that, the best the government can do is to institute a more functional management team to save the situation.
He said, "The government has failed woefully and it is clear now. This is the time we need to see good leadership at display but what do we see now? The Vice President has gone into comatose and lacks the ideas to resurrect the economy. The Minority thinks he should resign as the head of the management team for the better."
