Ghanaians have held many elections since it re-subscribed to the multiparty democracy. It has been a change of power between the two dominant political parties; the incumbent New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress. These 2 parties have dominated the political scene and have achieved respective strides to making Ghana a better and peaceful country.
The Member of Parliament for the Tamale South constituency and Leader of the Minority group in Parliament, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu is a very instrumental member of the opposition party and has dedicated his whole political life serving its base.
NPP assumed office with many mouthwatering breathtaking promises, of which many are being implemented. However, according to the NDC the government has failed to deliver as pledged. The recent development that President Akuffo-Addo hired a private jet has also rang with indignation in media spaces.
Haruna Iddrisu has dropped a bold and controversial statement about his assessment of the performance of the current government. According to the outspoken MP, the NPP have performed abysmal. Speaking in an interview, he called on Ghanaians to record the failures of NPP in their good books and use that to measure the competence of the 2 parties. He implored Ghanaians to do away with partisan politics and hand over to the best party, which he believes is the NDC.
He said, "The NPP has totally failed us. And we will make sure you never get our power again."
What are your thoughts on Haruna Iddrisu's comment?
