Coronavirus has taken some great personalities from Ghanaians. Former General Secretary of the ruling party NPP and boss at Forestry Commission of Ghana, Kojo Owusu Afriyie was well known by numerous Ghanaians as Sir John has taken over from the face of the earth through this deadly disease.

As I type this, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency William Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo is in self-isolation after a high government official close to the first gentleman of the land tested positive for COVID-19.

Senior Minister, Osafo Marfo, Campaign Chairman of the ruling party Peter Mac Manu, Member of Parliament for Tema West Constituency Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, and other great personalities in the country have been confirmed positive for the virus.

On June 13th, 2020 Sekondi/Takoradi's Mayor, Honorable Anthony KK Sam was confirmed dead after he tested positive for COVID-19 and was at the University of Ghana's Hospital in Accra for treatment. The President of the Republic of Ghana confirmed that the late Mayor was killed by coronavirus during his 11th address to the nation on COVID-19 situation in Ghana and the measures his government is putting in place to control the spread.

On Sunday, Takoradi born multiple award-winning musician, Martin King Arthur well known in the entertainment industry Kofi Kinaata paid a visit to the family of the late boss of Sekondi/Takoradi who died of COVID-19. The musician signed the book of condolences with the host of political talk show Ekosisen on Accra based radio station Asempa FM, Philip Osei Bonsu.

I went to greet the family of the late Hon. KK Sam (STMA MCE) and to sign the Condolence Book. Rest In Peace Dad! 😔😔 - Kofi Kinaata posted on Facebook.

Before the death of the Mayor of Sekondi/Takoradi, Kinaata and his management team were like a family to him. The boss gave the go-ahead for the musician to host his annual concert dubbed "MADE IN TADI" which has been done for the past three years at the Takoradi Jubilee Park.

The late Honorable Anthony KK Sam will be buried in private at Ekumfi Asafa in the Central Region of Ghana on the 18th of this month.
