When They Tell You They Gave You Free Water And Electricity, Tell Them To Keep Quiet-Johnnie Hughes

A lot of questions keep arising from the Covid19 expenditure even after the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta appeared in Parliament to respond to some questions regarding the matter.

In the “heat” of the Covid19 pandemic, the government gave out “free” electricity and water as the majority of Ghanaians did not pay bills for almost a year.

Sadly, the government turned around to asking Ghanaians to pay those bills back in bits and it has generated some “uproar” over the period.

Host of “Johnniesbite” on TV3, Johnnie Hughes has reiterated that when anybody tells Ghanaians that they gave them free water and electricity, they should tell those people to keep quiet.

He proffered this opinion when addressing the matter on the show today, June 23, 2022.

In his view, for the government to have told people that it was free but turned around to ask the people to pay for it is deceptive and disrespectful. He criticized the alleged discrepancy in the Covid19 expenditures between the Finance Ministry and the Presidency.

“On this particular occasion, there's nothing like free water and electricity and that is the thing we must do understand because we are paying for it. Enough of the deception. It is not free. When they tell you they gave you free water and electricity, tell them to keep quiet” he said.

What is your view on the Covid19 expenditure?
