Many reactions had been uttered out with how the fight of galamsey has not seen any meaningful impact since the rollout of measures in curbing the destruction of the land and water bodies respectively.
Given that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be meeting the National House of Chiefs and MMDCEs on the Galamsey Menace on Wednesday, 5th October 2022 at 10 am at the Manhyia, Kumasi.
This initiative has stored massive reactions among Ghanaians citing that this enterprise won't yield any meaningful result since what should be done has been ignored over the years.
Here's how Ghanaians reacted to his post on Facebook making his intentions known:
• Can all meetings on saving our water bodies be done privately? We only want to see positive results, then afterward they tell us how they did it. We find it very disrespectful that they keep playing with our minds.
• The MMDEs and some members of NPP can help curb this menace that threatens our environment. Thanks for ordering this important meeting. Hope it brings lasting solutions.
• Pretence do we mean we do not know a single person in power or out of power doing galamsey? Why can't you fish out one of them, and punish him or her to serve as a deterrent to others?
• Meeting MMDCEs, chiefs, pastors, or whoever, wouldn't yield any positive result when it could be that some who may sit in such meetings may have their concessions in operations. Arrest one single person, and punish publicly to prove reality than the drama.
